Perth Amboy Dominates East Brunswick Magnet in GMC Invitational Final

EDISON, NJ — Perth Amboy delivered a commanding performance in the GMC Invitational Final, cruising to a 12-1 victory over East Brunswick Magnet on Friday in Edison. Powered by a relentless offensive attack, six Perth Amboy players recorded multiple hits, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.

Despite entering the game with a 4-17 record, Perth Amboy came out firing, jumping to an early 2-0 lead. East Brunswick Magnet, which carried a 12-7 record into the contest, cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the first inning. But it was Perth Amboy’s explosive fourth inning that ultimately sealed the outcome.

In the top of the fourth, Perth Amboy unleashed an offensive barrage, scoring eight runs to take full control of the game. Sebastian Aponte led the charge, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run, providing a major spark. Jariel Dominguez and Jose Neris also played pivotal roles, each contributing two hits and scoring two runs, further cementing Perth Amboy’s dominance.

East Brunswick Magnet struggled to keep pace with Perth Amboy’s relentless offense. Ryan Dellafave drove in the team’s only run, while Scott Pede provided a few bright spots, finishing 2-for-2 at the plate. But those efforts weren’t enough to overcome Perth Amboy’s commanding lead.

The GMC Invitational Final victory highlighted Perth Amboy’s resilience and potential, allowing them to close their season on a high note despite an otherwise challenging record. The team’s ability to perform under pressure and execute in key moments was on full display.

For Perth Amboy, the win stands as a testament to hard work and determination throughout the season. For East Brunswick Magnet, while the final game ended in disappointment, their strong season record reflects consistent performance and a competitive spirit.

As the season draws to a close, both teams can look back on their journeys with valuable lessons and experiences, setting the foundation for future growth and success in their respective programs.
